With powerful blues-rock and a fearless, raw intensity, Norwegian artist Peer Gynt has captivated audiences around the world with his brilliant guitar work, strong compositional skills, and charismatic stage presence. Together with his longtime band, he has toured internationally for many years, helping elevate Norwegian music to new heights on the global stage.
In 2022, Peer Gynt gained major international recognition when the live album “Peer Gynt – Live in Hell” was nominated for the Blues Blast Music Awards in the USA, in the category Best Live Recording.
Over an impressive career spanning nearly 30 years, Peer Gynt has contributed to more than 20 album releases on prestigious record labels such as Ruf Records (Germany), Sony Music, Universal/MBN, Rodell Records (USA), and others. He has toured extensively worldwide and shared the stage with legendary blues and rock artists including Walter Trout, Steve Morse, Ana Popovic, Leslie West, Ten Years After, and Manfred Mann, to name just a few.
Peer Gynt’s unique musicality has also caught the attention of Hollywood. His music has been featured in well-known films and TV series such as “RED” (starring Morgan Freeman, Bruce Willis, and John Malkovich), MTV Jackass, MTV Punk’d, CSI, and 60 Minutes.
His exceptional guitar skills have led to collaborations and endorsement deals with major international brands such as Fender and LaBella Strings (USA), as well as Mad Professor (Finland).
In late October 2023, GoldTone Records released the single “Dirty Shoes”, featuring Billy Sheehan (David Lee Roth, Mr. Big, The Winery Dogs, Steve Vai) on bass. The single is one of several releases leading up to a new album scheduled for release in fall 2025.
April 2024 marked the release of another single, “Hang On”, featuring Micky Moody of Whitesnake, who delivers outstanding slide guitar work. On December 2, 2024, Peer Gynt released yet another single, “Hangman”, which quickly climbed to #12 on the Dutch Top 100 chart.
The years 2025 and 2026 promise to be exciting for Peer Gynt, with national and international touring, multiple single releases, and a full album release. There is no doubt that Peer Gynt will continue to write new chapters in Norwegian music history while captivating audiences worldwide.
